Question 1

What services does PS Visa provide?

Accepted Answer

PS Visa provides comprehensive visa and immigration services for both foreigners coming to Thailand and Thai citizens traveling abroad. For foreigners, we handle Thai work visas (Non-Immigrant B), Digital Nomad visas (DTV), retirement visas (Non-O), marriage visas, and business visas. For Thai citizens, we assist with outbound visa applications to Europe (Schengen visas for 27 countries), the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and other destinations. Our services include document preparation, application review, embassy appointment scheduling, and full case management from start to finish. We also provide visa renewals, extensions, and work permit services. Each client receives a dedicated consultant who handles their case personally, ensuring consistent communication and personalized advice throughout the process.

Question 2

How long does the visa process take?

Accepted Answer

Visa processing times vary depending on the visa type and destination country. For Thai work visas (Non-B), the typical processing time is 2-4 weeks from document submission to approval. Thailand's DTV (Digital Nomad) visa usually takes 2-3 weeks. Schengen visa applications for Thai citizens typically require 3-4 weeks, though during peak travel seasons this may extend to 6 weeks. US and UK visa applications can take 4-8 weeks due to interview scheduling. Australian visas often process within 2-4 weeks for straightforward cases. During your initial consultation, we assess your specific situation and provide a realistic timeline based on current embassy processing speeds, your document readiness, and any factors that might affect your case. We always recommend applying at least 6-8 weeks before your intended travel date.

Question 3

Do you handle visa renewals?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we provide complete visa renewal and extension services for all visa types we support. For Thai visas, this includes extending Non-B work visas, retirement visas, marriage visas, and DTV visas. We handle the entire renewal process: reviewing your current visa status, preparing updated documentation, scheduling immigration appointments, and accompanying you to the immigration office if needed. For outbound visas, we assist Thai citizens with renewing expired Schengen, US, UK, and Australian visas. We track your visa expiration dates and contact you in advance to ensure timely renewal. Our renewal success rate is over 95% because we identify potential issues early and address them before submission. We recommend starting the renewal process 30-60 days before expiration to avoid any gaps in your legal status.

Question 4

What is a Non-B visa?

Accepted Answer

The Non-Immigrant B visa (commonly called Non-B) is Thailand's primary visa category for foreigners entering the country for employment or business purposes. It is required before you can apply for a Thai work permit. The Non-B visa is issued by Thai embassies and consulates abroad, typically valid for 90 days single entry or one year multiple entry. There are two main subcategories: Non-B for employment (working for a Thai company) and Non-B for business (attending meetings, negotiations, or establishing a business). To qualify for an employment Non-B, you typically need a job offer from a registered Thai company, university degree or equivalent experience, and various supporting documents from your employer. The Non-B visa allows you to enter Thailand legally for work purposes, but you must obtain a separate work permit from the Ministry of Labour before you can legally start working.

Question 5

Can I work immediately with a Non-B visa?

Accepted Answer

No, holding a Non-B visa alone does not authorize you to work in Thailand. The Non-B visa permits you to enter Thailand for employment purposes, but you must also obtain a work permit from the Department of Employment before performing any work. Working without a valid work permit is illegal and can result in fines, deportation, and being banned from re-entering Thailand. After arriving in Thailand on your Non-B visa, your employer must apply for your work permit within 90 days. The work permit application requires additional documents including a medical certificate, passport photos, and company registration documents. Processing typically takes 7-14 business days. Only after receiving both your Non-B visa stamp and physical work permit card can you legally begin employment. PS Visa assists with both the visa application and work permit process, ensuring a smooth transition from arrival to legal employment.

Question 6

Who is eligible for the DTV visa?

Accepted Answer

Thailand's Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), commonly known as the Digital Nomad Visa, is designed for remote workers, freelancers, content creators, and digital professionals who work for clients or employers located outside Thailand. Eligibility requirements include proof of remote work such as employment contracts, freelance agreements, or business registration showing overseas income. You must demonstrate minimum income of approximately $16,500 USD (500,000 THB) per year through bank statements, tax returns, or invoices. The DTV also covers spouses and dependents under the same application. Unlike tourist visas, the DTV explicitly allows you to work remotely while in Thailand without requiring a Thai work permit, as your employer or clients are based abroad. Creative professionals, online business owners, stock traders, and those with passive income may also qualify. PS Visa evaluates your specific work situation during consultation to confirm eligibility and prepare appropriate documentation.

Question 7

How long is the DTV valid?

Accepted Answer

The DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) is valid for 5 years with multiple entries permitted. Each entry allows you to stay in Thailand for up to 180 days (approximately 6 months). You can extend each stay by an additional 180 days at a local immigration office, giving you up to one year of continuous stay per entry. If you leave Thailand before your stay expires, you can re-enter on the same DTV visa without applying for a new one, as long as the 5-year validity period has not expired. The visa fee is 10,000–15,000 THB, depending on the exchange rate at the embassy where you apply. Compared to tourist visas which require frequent border runs or repeated applications, the DTV provides significant convenience and stability for long-term remote workers. PS Visa can help you plan your stays and extensions to maximize your time in Thailand while maintaining legal status throughout the 5-year validity period.

Question 8

What is a Schengen visa?

Accepted Answer

A Schengen visa is a short-stay visa that allows Thai citizens to travel freely across 27 European countries that form the Schengen Area. These countries include popular destinations like France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, and 21 others. With a single Schengen visa, you can enter any Schengen country and move between them without additional border checks or visa requirements. Schengen visas are issued for tourism, business trips, family visits, conferences, medical treatment, or cultural events. The application is submitted to the embassy of your main destination country (or first entry country if visiting multiple equally). Thai passport holders must apply for a Schengen visa before traveling, as Thailand is not on the visa-exempt list. The application process involves submitting documents, attending an embassy interview, providing biometric data (fingerprints), and demonstrating sufficient travel funds and ties to Thailand that ensure your return.

Question 9

How long can I stay with a Schengen visa?

Accepted Answer

A standard Schengen tourist visa allows stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day rolling period. This means you can spend a maximum of 3 months in the Schengen Area during any 6-month window. The 180-day period is calculated backwards from each day of your stay, not as fixed calendar periods. For example, if you stayed 90 days and then left, you would need to wait 90 days before you could return for another full stay. First-time applicants typically receive single-entry visas valid for their planned trip dates plus a short buffer. Frequent travelers with a good visa history may receive multiple-entry visas valid for 1-5 years, though the 90/180 day rule still applies to each trip. For stays longer than 90 days, you would need a national long-stay visa from the specific country, which has different requirements. PS Visa helps calculate your allowed days and plan trips to stay within legal limits.
